Read more...Mykonos has long been one of the most popular destinations in the Greek islands. Mykonos is very accessible- Easy Jet offers direct flights from the U.K. to Mykonos. Visitors can also take domestic flights from Athens to Mykonos which are offered by Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines. Those that prefer a more leisurely mode of transportation can take a ferry to Mykonos. Ferries leave from Athens' two ports (Pireaus and Rafina) on a regular basis. Car ferries take about 7 hours to reach Mykonos from Athens while high speed ferries cut that time in half. Mykonos is connected to a number of other Greek islands via the ferry system so it is easy for visitors to island hop. A valid passport is required to visit. Tourists from the U.K. can visit Mykonos for up to three months without a visa.
